Plants 'n' Sh*t - Season 2 - Episode 1
'What is design anyway?'
In the first season of P&S we talked to a wide range of creatives across the country about their own experiences following their passion. It was great to hear from a diverse range of guests about challenges they face constantly and how they try to overcome them. We really gained an understanding of what it takes to keep a creative practice moving and some of the common traits we all share.
This season we are shifting slightly to focus the lens back on what we love to do. We begin by discussing the ideas around 'design' more broadly and what it actually means. Why is design important and what is it that we actually do as landscape design professionals?

"The New Normal" Part 2.
Tonight we continue our discussion about the constantly changing world we all find ourselves in. We chat to Brent Reid from Candeo Design. Brent has designed & built many wonderful gardens at the Melbourne Flower Show. He's also worked extensively in the residential design field & more recently been involved in bringing the London College of Garden Design to Melbourne.
We talk about the cancellation of MIFGS, the uncertainty of running a business during a pandemic & Brent's role with the London College of Garden Design. Finally we discuss the power of "the chat", looking out for people & making sure the people around you are doing ok.
Unfortunately, just as we began recording a technical issue booted Stephen off the link. We promise he'll be back in the next episode....or will he.....

30-MAR-2020
Getting 3 people in a room at the same time, from 3 different states requires significant planning, travel costs & a touch of luck. In February, we decided it was time to find a remote solution that we could record some of our interviews online - reducing time & financial constraints. Just 5 weeks later we find ourselves with no other option but to go online. Today's episode was recorded from Tim's home in Adelaide & Stephen's home in Macedon. While our normal format involves a special guest, today it is only Tim & Stephen. What was intended as a trial run ended up being an honest, in depth discussion about running a small business, being aware of the mental health benefits of gardening & looking forward (day by day) in this ever changing world.
